Nessie Allan, with McCornack Country Knitwear stock at the Aviemore Royal Highland Show McCornack Country Knitwear was formed in 1973 and the original owner, Nessie Allan, still manages the operation and oversees the performance of all her knitters. She is more than strict Quality Control!

Regular visits to deliver yarn and uplift garments lead to the fostering of a family atmosphere in the company where everyone is aware of the need to produce an article which is something special.

Knitting on this scale is helping to keep alive a craft which is fast declining. At one time, not so long ago, virtually every family would have an expert knitter who would see to all the family needs for pullovers, socks and hats. These days are gone as are many of the traditional skills. The McCornack knitters are helping to maintain a skilled craft.

McCornack garments are sold extensively in Scotland and North America, Canada and Australia where many expatriates appreciate the quality of the genuine article.
