My name is Stephen Gemmell from Cuyahoga Falls Ohio U.S.A.. I\'m looking for the correct famliy crest. Sofar I\'ve found seven(7) different ones for the name \"Gemmell\".My great grandparents Alexander Gemmell& Mary Tonge were both from Dumfries. Alexander was the head gardner for a local Lord, which one I\'m not sure.In 1895 they came to visit America and Mary gave birth to Jack Tonge Gemmell, my granfather. All of them returned to Scottland, where my granfather grew up. Jack came back to America because of his dual citizenship and stayed.
Any info regaurding my family crest would be welcomed.

I am a descendant of the Kinstry/Kingstree & the Kennan & McMinn families.
My 3x great grandparents were John Kinstry & Janet Kennan.
John\'s parents were Joseph Kinstry/Kingstree & Lucy Porter with Janet\'s parents being Adam Kennan & Agnes McMinn.
The parishes of Buittle & Urr feature prominently in my family tree.
I would be pleased to hear from anyone who thinks they may have a connection to these families.

looking for gravesite or other info about james mcmurray born 1794 in durresdear, Dumfries. also son named james mcmurray born 1831 in knowhead, sanquhar, dumfries who with wife margaret had 4 children named hellen, jane, sidney , and james . it is this son james who emigrated to new brunswick, canada in 1872 or 1875, is there ant info on family still residing in or about dumfries ?
