Glasgow Women’s Library in Dumfries The Dumfries women’s reading circle meets every last Wednesday of the month from  6pm-7.30pm  @ North West Resource Centre, College Drive, Dumfries.
To find out more, contact Morag on 0141 248 9969 or speak to Cathy Crompton at North West Resource Centre (01387 279279).
Do you love books, stories and poems? Dumfries women’s reading circle is a new group from Glasgow Women’s library, just started in Dumfries, where you can get together with other women and chat about your favourite reads over a cuppa. The Dumfries reading circle is unlike other book groups – the group members don’t all read the same thing, but bring along their own favourite stories, poems or books, so it’s a great chance to share the reads you love over a friendly chat.  Group members choose what to read, and once you’ve told the group about what you’ve been reading you can pass it on to someone else. You don’t have to bring any reading material to every meeting, you can just listen if you want to, as some members read out the poems or stories they’ve brought along.
Glasgow Women’s library is an information hub, library and learning centre currently based at the Mitchell library in Glasgow. Although it is based in Glasgow, the library’s national lifelong learning programme extends across Scotland and offers a whole variety of events and groups offering women the chance to meet new friends and learn new skills. We also have a small satellite collection of books by women authors, ranging from biography to poetry in the Ewart library in Dumfries which is available to borrow – just pop into the Ewart and ask for the women’s library satellite collection.
